Hand Gestures and Head Nods
During class yesterday we played a new game where the class split up into two groups and got into a circle. Then we all had to join hands with different people across from us. Without using verbal communication, we had to figure out a way to untangle ourselves amd become a circle again. While doing this, we realized how hard it was to do this with out using verbal communication and found out how instinctive it can be for us to use it to assist in a situation. I was suprised to see all of the different ways we communicate our feelings through our facial expressions and support our ideas with hand gestures and head nods. It would have been a lot more helpful if we were able to verbally communicate which way to go and how to get there. But it was a great way to stress the fact that both forms of communication is very important to get the point across.

I think the word "instinctive" is the perfect one to use in this situation! A lot of your classmates gave in to this instinct, too. I hope everyone else got the same understanding from the activity that you did. 12/12 earned
ReplyDeleteI agree that the activity gave a very good representation of how we always try to use verbal communication in situations but you can use nonverbal communication in place of it and it is just as effective.
